Greeting in His Name,
The resilience of man always amazes me. How easily we can bounce back from some of the most horrific things. I don't neglect that there is pain and often years of therapeutic help that is needed but often we survive. I myself have had some time in the chair talking with a counselor through a 'LIFE' situation. But in the end I/We make it through the balancing act with more wisdom and knowledge and understanding. Today's blog is entitled Balance Today's Life. Hope you find some inspiration, conviction, and queries.
shalom and love,
heidi
Balancing today’s life can be wearisome at times but it can be done if we face a God who can handle and help it all. Webster’s Dictionary says balance is a “means of judging or deciding”. I say balance is taking all the weights of Life and giving them over to the Judge and Decider of all our fates. As you continue to read you will see that God is eager to balance our hearts, minds, and souls (emotions). If we would just do as Jesus instructed in Matthew 22:37, love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Balance your Heart: Proverbs 4:23 NLT
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. It is important to put a hedge about your heart. Keep it safe because it can dictate how your life will go. I am reminded of a story about a lizard, that states he will give up his tail in defense of himself. In time his tail will grow back and strangely this occurs EVERY-TIME he loses it. This makes me think of ours hearts, we may painstakingly give our hearts to matters, and wounds we may receive, just as the lizard, but God in all His love will allow the balm of Gilead to flow through the wounds of the heart and bring healing EVERY-TIME. Our hearts are safe if we let God stay on guard.
Balance your Mind: Isaiah 26:3 KJV
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. What are you thinking? What stays on your mind? Who are you trusting in your thinking? Proverbs tells us as a man thinks (in his heart) so is he. What we do, our action, often tells others what we are really about. God once showed me how our senses work together. He said watch what comes out of your mouth, because what you say and what you allow others to say about you, it enters your ears ---- your hearing. If your hearing is wrong then your perception, what you see, will be wrong and ultimately what you feel will be all wrong. Isaiah tells us that Gods ways are not like our ways and His thoughts are not like our thoughts, they are above. Your mind is the think tank of perception. What you think for yourself. What you feel for yourself. What’s passionate and desirous to you. Your mind can distinguish you from any other man. So it is important to feed your mind the right food. Philippians 4:8 kind of food, Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Balance your Soul: I Peter 4:19 AMP
Therefore, those who are ill-treated and suffer in accordance with God's will must do right and commit their souls [in charge as a deposit] to the One Who created [them] and will never fail [them]. You have to commit your soul to Him in order to stay in balance. Whether treated bad or good, whether suffering or not He can balance the load. The hymn ‘It is Well With my Soul’ is in order here. This is one of my favorites and the story behind the hymn is so powerful. The hymn was written by Horatio G. Spafford. Mr. Spafford, after facing two major traumas in his life; the first was the great Chicago Fire of October 1871, which ruined him financially as a wealthy businessman. The second, shortly after, when his wife and four daughters were crossing the Atlantic Ocean, and a collision occurred with another ship and killed all four of Spafford’s daughters. Spafford’s wife Anna survived and sent him a telegram stating, “Saved alone”. Several weeks later, as Spafford’s own ship passed near the spot where his daughters died, the Holy Spirit inspired him to write this well know hymn. Only a compassionate God, Our Father, can touch a soul that deeply and have a man such as Horatio G. Spafford to coin the words to this hymn. The hymn speaks to the eternal hope that all believers have, no matter what pain and grief befall us on earth—it is well! Mr. Spafford, as I hope many of us will commit our souls to a saving God who will heal all heartaches, headaches, and soul-aches.
Closing:
HMS usually is used as the prefix to navy ships. The letters stand for His or Her Majesty’s Ship. Our Hearts, Minds, and Souls are on a voyage and they can only go where we lead them. If I fill my ship with mess I will get a HMS full of mess. If I fill it with gossip, backbiting, or negativity then what do you suppose I’ll get, that’s it—the same. But if I fill my ship with love, joy, peace, and positivity then my HMS will sail as Christ would want it to sail, in line. Ahoy Mates! The voyage is on!
