Volume 13 Issue 4

Greeting in His Name,

I hope everyone is well as we enter another quarter of the year. I apologize for the delay in releasing April's issue, but I was diligently trying to finish another semester of school strong, along with other ministry assignments. But you know God's got it. And by the way, that's today's blog; GOD's GOT IT! I hope you find some inspiration, conviction, and queries.

shalom and love,

heidi

There is an old song that used to go like this: God's Got It, God's Got It, He's Got Everything You Need… "He's Got Everything You Need," adding the notion, "To Not Worry" cause God's Got It!  Today, I write to you with a more vital awareness that my life is in God's hands and that I want Him to keep me there.

God asked me, "Am I in control?"  I replied to Him, "God, I'm so out of control!"  It's so GOoD to be out of control, not in the sense that we act like maniacs, but out of control because our will is lost totally in obedience to His.  Today's scripture, 2 Chronicles 20:5-13, lets us look at King Jehoshaphat facing three enemies with a fearful heart, a bewildered mind, and probably a crushed spirit as he declares a fast and a time to pray.  What is so powerful about his prayer is that he reminisces on the mighty hand of God moving on behalf of the children of Israel's forefathers and that because the children of Israel under the leadership of King Jehoshaphat decided to yield before God, they know God's eye is upon them.  Basically, Jehoshaphat was saying in the above-mentioned passage, "God, You Got It!" and we recognize that. As we move ahead, I want you to be strategic in your approach to God, in your prayers to Him, and listen for the command, the instructions, and the promise in your life's events.

The Command

(You shall not need to fight in this battle; take your positions, stand still, and see the deliverance of the Lord).  I don't believe God would ever send you to war without a command.  A command is to give orders, and who better to receive orders from than God, the maker and creator of ALL things?  Years ago, I taught a series with a Single Ladies Bible Study entitled Warrior Princess: Worth Defending from Ephesians 6:10-18.  I explained to them the importance of knowing your enemy and that we are strong and capable of the fight because God is in us.  Now let me share this: your enemy is not 'sister girl' nor is it 'brother guy'; your enemy is Satan himself.  Satan has a command center and is the CEO (Chief Enemy Overlord).  His job is to destroy.  His army is in place, and they are doing the work.  But God has sent the command from Heaven in this scripture that we have no need to fight and that our responsibility is to hold the position, and I believe the position is prayer. We see this in the scriptures before we get to this verse.  We must stand still, meaning don't go moving all about trying to see how you can make something happen or bring yourself out.  Always look to see God's delivering hand.  I don't know about you, but I'm tired of the complacency I see in church. I'm ready to see a great move in the body of Christ.  Right now, it seems we are so off target and not completing the one assignment I know Christ left, "power to be witnesses."  Take God's command and work it.

The Instructions

([Who is] with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Fear not nor be dismayed. Tomorrow, go out against them).  Who is with you,  (personalize it) Heidi?  God!  So, the instruction is not to fear.  You may have gotten a bad report, the household may be strained, the job may look sketchy, and God knows what else is going wrong, but the instruction is to fear not.  Excusing fear must be an exercise; if not done correctly, it will overtake you.  Exercise it with the Word of God, which is your sword; it's your defense.  That's why God can further instruct us to go out against them.  Whatever it may be, 'fear or trouble,' with God and His Word, your outcome is already set – VICTORY!

The Promise

(for the Lord is with you.)  I go back to that old song, God's Got It, God's Got It, He's Got Everything You Need.  I tell you, He does; God is not slack regarding His promise.  He stands on His Word and walks us through to victory in Jesus.  I can not voice my confidence enough that God is with you.

As I think back, some years ago, I had outpatient surgery. The result of that surgery was that I have a disease called Sarcoidosis.  This had been ruled out before, but further tests proved that Sarcoidosis was what I had been wrestling with all along.  I have had the turmoil of steroids and many visits to the doctor to stay on top of it.  I share this because God's Got It! Because today, I am medicine free! During that time, I had a litany of songs in a series called Songs That Got Me Through, and I knew that God had a plan.  So I would declare, I know Greater is Coming because I Stand on Your Word as I declare my faith Manifesto to you right now, knowing there are many days ahead where I will have to Press In Your Presence – God, believing GOD'S GOT IT!

LIFE QUOTE

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase."

-Martin Luther King, Jr.

Let Us Laugh!

The church badly needed a coat of paint, so the pastor decided he'd do the job himself. But all he had was one bucket of paint. So he got a bunch of buckets and some water, and he thinned the paint enough to cover the entire church. Then he spent all day painting. That night, it rained—very hard—and washed all the paint off.

The pastor was quite discouraged and asked God, 'Why...why God, did you let it rain and wash off all my hard work?'

To which God thundered his reply, 'Repaint! Repaint! And thin no more!'

Hope to see you Next Month....
