Volume 9 Issue 5

Greeting in His Name,

Well, June is upon us and we're nearly half way through the year. Many things have transpired and many wonder when will it end. Of course these are times when we have to lean and depend upon God. Media is throwing out so much information that we have to remain calm and focused so that we are not tossed about by every word we hear. Because of that we must focus even more on the wisdom of the the Word of God. In today's blog I just wanted to share another old article I wrote entitled I Stand On Your Word. I really hope, after reading, you find some inspiration, conviction, and queries.

How often do we affix our minds on our humanly needs and forego our spiritual needs? I have found that often times our neglect in the area of our human need is very much tied to our spiritual deficiency; GOT WORD? We go around and around and around needing our spiritual needs quenched only to find ourselves as the Samaritan woman, parched and thirsty. Why? For one, we let our human needs outweigh our spiritual ones, and two, we do not take heed to or maybe it is that we do not search out the promises of God. Isaiah 55:6 says, Seek, inquire for, and require the Lord while He may be found [claiming Him by necessity and by right]; call upon Him while He is near. Just before we get to this point in the scripture, and I encourage you now to read the entire chapter, we find beautiful but contrasting - human vs. spiritual - imagery of the provision of God written by the prophet Isaiah. From the very beginning of this chapter we find the prophet beckoning the people to come and have what we would think to be their human needs taken care of “without money”. What he is really doing is using the symbolism of the natural to show our real spiritual neglect. The awesome thing is if we stand on His Word, letting our very souls connect to the promises of God, we can stand assured that God will give us a ‘Yes’! Don’t believe me check out 2 Corinthians 1:20.

God Word Produces (Isaiah 55:11a AMP)

So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless] WOW! If God says it, that settles it! There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. As the prophet gives us the symbolism of the water and snow coming from heaven in the previous scripture, and that it has its reason for doing so, so does God’s Word. God is not only a Man of His Word but He ‘stands’ on it. What thrills me the most is that God forewarns us in this same chapter to not compare our thoughts or our ways with His because they are far beyond us. By no means is God saying He is unreachable, but He is saying that we can not always fathom with our own minds the true purpose, intention and direction He has for us. My thought towards you is this: take some time to plant seed (purposeful desires), allow God to rain, or should I say ‘reign’, and I promise you a harvest. God’s Word produces, it does not ruin or destroy.

God Word Accomplishes (Isaiah 55:11b AMP)

But it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose. We all know God as omnipotent; He has all power. But here I also see God as sovereign, so very sovereign. And it’s more than God can do what He wants when He wants as most define sovereign. Here, it is when all is said and done, God is in control. It’s not like the world’s forceful control, it is God recognizing that if we wholly yield to His will He can accomplish great things through us. That is what I feel emanating and pouring from this scripture, a loving control of which God saying, I will walk in and with and among you and will be your God, and you shall be My people. So, for us, not only will God make His Word have dunamis power but in giving His Word we will saunter in His divine purpose. I don’t know about you but I hear the powerful blast of miracles, signs, and wonders demonstrated in the earth. God’s Word accomplishes! It’s DY-NO-MITE!

God Word Succeeds (Isaiah 55:11c AMP)

And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. God produces and God accomplishes because He has pardoned, or as the scripture says, He has abundantly pardon. So what’s left? That’s it – Success! It’s because of the sure mercies of David, “God’s steadfast love”, we have obtained such promises. If God working for us and through us was predicated on us, surely it would be due to mercy. Early on in this chapter we learned that if we forsake our wicked way, give up our unrighteous thoughts and return to God, He would have mercy. Because of these very mercies we are not consumed. Because of these mercies we relish in the promises of God’s Word. God’s Word succeeds; it never fails.

Closing: Did you P.A.S.S..?

We are in the season of graduation and many are excited to finish school or at least prepare themselves to move to another level. Of course that meant that they had to pass; produce, accomplish, and succeed. For many they had to pray and stand on God's word to encourage them through. Sometime it took a friend, family member or teachers to help you pass. Sometimes it was tears shed and long nights of study to help you pass. It could have even been a song like I Stand on Your Word by Jonathan Butler from His CD entitled “Grace and Mercy”, to see you through. Whatever means, it all helped you say, with God I PASS. WHY? Because He P.A.S.S. – GOD Produces, GOD Accomplishes, GOD Succeeds. He stands on His Word!

Let Us Laugh!

A gentleman was known by his co-workers for falling asleep at his work station. One day as his manager passed he saw him and approached. As he was about to reprimand him for his sleeping on the job, the man - head still bowed - opened his eyes slightly - knowing what kind of shoes his manager wore he quickly said, "AMEN."
