Volume 14 Issue 2

He's there just keep pressing.
He's there just keep pressing.

Greeting in His Name,

We have made it to the last day of February. I hope that you are pressing into your dreams and aspirations. That you are pressing into the Word. Pressing into prayer. Pressing into fellowship with believers, sharing life together. It is important to have a strong spiritual unit because life throw curve balls, and we need to be filled with faith and surrounded by people with faith. We have ten months ahead of us, what are you pressing to accomplish? With that being said, today's blog is entitled Press In Your Presence. I hope you find some inspiration, conviction, and queries.

shalom and love,

heidi

To press in is to use all the energy you can to make something happen, bring something to be, and/or move something.  When I hear the song, Press in Your Presence, it INNERgizes my soul!  No matter how down I may be, this song virtually makes me see the awesome power of God and makes me think I can leap over trials, burst through circumstances, and tear down obstacles.  As we look at 2 Corinthians 3:16-18, we find that our God is not inanimate, lifeless, or unfeeling, but He is living, and nothing constricts us from getting to Him face-to-face.  He has given us freedom through Christ to come.  The song says, "If I can just press, press in your presence…I will behold, I'll still believe, I will just lay at your feet, I'll just praise, right here in your presence".  In His presence there is fullness of joy at His right hand there are pleasures forever more (Psalm 16:11).

Let us look at two individuals who pressed in His presence.

What's Your Issue? (Mark 5:25-34 or Luke 8:43-48)

When I think about pressing, I immediately think of the woman with the issue of blood.  Her issue was a continuous flow of blood, a continuous search for doctors to cure her, and a continuous spending of money to no avail; this was a pressing situation.  This situation pulled her to a place of desperation, where she was willing to press through a crowd on her knees -just- to touch the hem of her healer's garment.  What if we were so desperate? So, desirous? Dying to get so near to God. It makes one wonder, if we were desperate to see the face of God, would our world be different?  Would our households, jobs, schools, communities, and relationships be made well and whole?  Upon looking in His face, would we see His hand move across the earth and hear Him say as He said to the woman, "your faith has made you well"?  So, I ask again, what's your issue?  I can hear Him say, "Be healed in Jesus Name."

Pray to His Face (Daniel 6)

Man ought always to pray and not faint (Luke 18:1).  When I think about Daniel, I think about when I first came to Christ. I think about the period in which God allowed me to enter Christendom. For me, it was perfect; my Pastor was teaching a series entitled Crucify Self; Tony Evans had a series out on Prayer, of which Daniel was one of the main characters he dealt with. The spiritual discipline of fasting was also taking root in my life. I could not have come to Christ at a better time. My Pastor played a big part in laying my foundation, and my bar was set HIGH from day one.  I say all that to say prayer and fasting were keys to placing me before His face. As we learn to crucify flesh, putting it under subjection to God and His Word, we can face any den, and come out just as Daniel, without a scratch (Daniel 6:23).  What I believe set God's face to Daniel was Daniel's integrity to prayer; no matter what, he prayed.  He was not looking for God's hand, but he was looking for the face of God. To have God's face is to have His attention. Can God look at your record and say, "No matter what, he/she prayed?" And when the record says, "yes," was it His face or His hand that you sought? Because I believe that to see His face is to see His hand.

I can testify with the woman with the issue of blood. Some years ago, a doctor found a mass on my lungs.  I went back and forth to the doctor, to no avail.  I had outpatient surgery, hoping to find out exactly what this mass was. Finally! The diagnosis was sarcoidosis. It was a battle for some years, but today, I am so much better than when I started. There, too, I can testify with Daniel - this den WILL NOT devour me!  I will not lie to you and say that I was not afraid in the beginning, but I thank God for prayer, I thank God for people I can agree with in prayer, and I thank God for His Word.  Press in Your Presence was a song in a series I entitled Songs That Got Me Through. These songs comprised my manifesto [read the January edition - please]. I know Greater is Coming, so I Stand on Your Word as I make this Manifesto of faith. I Press In Your Presence, knowing God's Got It!
