Greeting in His Name,
Prayer is so important. As we pray, we learn more about God's plans for us, we have more peace, and we find perspective and hope. I find that prayer truly balances one's life. If prayer can do all these things, then why do we not spend more time doing it? A life without prayer is dangerous. So, with that being said, today's blog is entitled PUSH Me. I hope you find some inspiration, conviction, and queries.
shalom and love,
heidi
Have you ever encountered a bully? A person who always wants to push you around? While writing the last publication, I discovered several scriptures that seemed to beam with folks pushing God. Their sheer faith and tenacity pushed Him to move for them. They bullied God. At that moment, God told me, "Heidi, My people don't see Me move in most cases because they don't take time to PUSH ME. I want my people to be just like an aggressive bully when it comes to getting my attention. I often see people piddling around with prayer and never really making their true request known because before they can really start praying, they don't believe it to be so. They don't believe I will earnestly do what they request. Of course, My feelings are hurt by this, and I can see why My Son often said, 'O ye of little faith.'" Now, God could say this to me because I have been here. But I know I am not the only one who has worn these shoes. So, in this publication, God will give the command, but He needs you to push. Let's really Pray Until Something Happens.
The Command 2 Chronicles 7:14 AMP: If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. Let's go ahead and get the formalities out of the way. You must be born again, sealed by God as His. A relationship with Him will give you the right to intercede in prayer. He did say "my people". This scripture opens in chapter 6 with Solomon's prayer before the people and God. He told God, "I need You to keep Your promise. If we get out of the way in our doing, SIN, but humble ourselves and pray, will You listen from heaven and act." I know for a fact that God will move on our behalf if we REPENT. The command is to pray and turn. With a spirit of humility, which is vital, let's press hard after God's face in prayer. Let Him hear us because we know we will hear from Him. And watch Him forgive our shortcomings and repair what's around us.
The command has been given - Now PUSH Me Ezra 8:21-23 NLT And there by the Ahava Canal, I gave orders for all of us to fast and humble ourselves before our God. We prayed that he would give us a safe journey and protect us, our children, and our goods as we traveled. For I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen to accompany us and protect us from enemies along the way. After all, we had told the king, "Our God's hand of protection is on all who worship him, but his fierce anger rages against those who abandon him." So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer. Think about this. What if we (Christians) corporately, as did Ezra and the children of Israel, got on the same accord? How much of God's power would be displayed throughout the earth? We would not have as much lobbying over decisions we know are against the Word. Prayer in school wouldn't be an issue. I know it wasn't in my day, and no one was offended. In the scripture above, Ezra thought he opened his mouth to the king too soon. He thought about the children of Israel's journey and their lack of protection. He knew he couldn't return to the king because what would that speak of God, his King. So Ezra commissioned a time of fasting and prayer to move God to protect them. Because they weren't lackadaisical, lacking life and zeal for the Lord, as most Christians are today, God heard and answered. We must ask ourselves if we are setting a future of doom for our future - most importantly, our children. Come on, my people! Let's push our Father to manifest to us in the earthly realm what He already has for us in the Spirit realm. Can you say it with me, P...U...S...H...!
The Command Malachi 3:10 AMP: Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. The command is simple: GIVE. God wants 10% of your earnings. He gives you the strength, wisdom, and source to get it. This is easy. He said to try Him and see if He won't bless you.
The command has been given - Now PUSH Me Philippians 4:5-6, 19 NLT: Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. The Philippian church saw Paul's need and pulled together to supply. Paul let them know, as well as us, that if we take care of God, meaning his house and servants, He will take care of us. Even in my most challenging financial times, I couldn't afford to skimp on God. God still made sure everything was taken care of. It may not have been done as I thought it should have been, but it was His best way of getting it done. And in those times, I learned to lean on Him, especially in prayer. I wish I could say my life was picture perfect, and I didn't worry sometimes because I did. But I learned with each financial hardship to trust Him in the P...U...S...H...!
The Command Psalm 107:20 AMP: He sends forth His word and heals them and rescues them from the pit and destruction. This past Sunday, this scripture pierced my heart. I had heard it before, but this time, it was like an arrow of God's wisdom hit me and got stuck. When something is punctured, you only get much fluid flow once you release the object. Well, this Word is still stuck in my soul. It's letting nothing in (distractions) and nothing out; it's doing exactly what it says, healing and delivering me.
Some time ago, I had the opportunity to meet with a worship team that facilitated an event, A Weekend with Jesus. Our time together was so explosive that I had to calm myself down to rest when I left. Long story short, I searched for the command scripture for this 'push' scripture but couldn't find it. But with our worship time and the puncture I got Sunday, I got the command. God doesn't always want us to rush when it comes to pouring into us. He wants to slow dance. Sometimes, the Father will have us in a waiting pattern to give us more ammunition and strategical war tactics against which the enemy will be defenseless. God has given the command - He sent His Word. God longs to watch over His Word to perform it, but when God hears us, does He hear the Word? Does He hear us reminding Him of what He did, is doing, and will do?
The command has been given - Now PUSH Me 2 Kings 20:1-3 NLT: About that time Hezekiah became deathly ill, and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to visit him. He gave the king this message: "This is what the Lord says: Set your affairs in order, for you are going to die. You will not recover from this illness." When Hezekiah heard this, he turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, "Remember, O Lord, how I have always been faithful to you and have served you single-mindedly, always doing what pleases you." Then he broke down and wept bitterly. I used Hezekiah's account because he pushed God. God sent the prophet to tell Hezekiah to set his house in order because he would die. Look at God! Warning does come before destruction! Well, Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and PRAYED. He reminded God of his faithfulness to Him. His belief in praying to God and receiving the instructions or commands God sent and followed them willingly. When Hezekiah did this, God had to respond, and He did. He sent the prophet back to speak a word of life. What if Hezekiah had just turned over and started to have a pity party and give up? He would be dead. Would you be dead, or are you dead? Do you feel like giving up? I encourage you to go to the wall and make your petitions known to the All-Wise God; he is waiting for you to speak. He's waiting on your P...U...S...H...!
God help us to PUSH You. Push You all up in our stuff, all up in our faults, trials, tribulations, disappointments, lack, inabilities, shortcomings, whatever. We love You, God, and we know that bullying You is not offensive but a sweet fragrance of love. Let us lay some love licks on You. As the Syrophenician woman asked, "Lord help me", ask Him to help you. And while asking, worship Him as she did. Believe God to do it as the centurion believed. Wake up your faith. Wrestle with your flesh until it comes in line with the Word of God; I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Press in as Jesus had to do many times in prayer. He made something happen, and so can you.

Let Us Laugh!
It was Palm Sunday, but because of a sore throat, 5-year-old Johnny stayed home from church with a sitter. When the family returned home, they were carrying several palm fronds. Johnny asked them what they were for.
"People held them over Jesus' head as he walked by," his father told him.
"Wouldn't you know it," Johnny fumed, "the one Sunday I don't go and he shows up."
Hope to see you Next Month....
