Volume 10 Issue 10

Greeting in His Name,

Well October; the best month of them all ; ), is closing and we are about to enter the seasons of thanksgiving and giving. As we approach the holiday's think about where you are in your relationship with God and ask yourself, AM I TRUE? Have I remained true? Or do I need take a trip to the altar with Psalm 139: 23 -24 at the forefront of mind; to ask God to make me over, make me true. Today's blog is entitled Remain True. Hope you find some inspiration, conviction, and queries.

shalom and love,

heidi

No matter what stay true to yourself, you will hear people say, but are we really true to ourselves? Are we using words to cover the false with what we call the truth? Proverbs 14:12 KJV There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 16:25 KJV There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Do you hear wise Solomon? It is vitally important that we remain on the road of truth. If we don’t we can easily end up on the road of death. I have learned that it is so easy to sin but it is a daily tug of war to live right. We have to daily die to our way and self in order to even take up the cross. I say that because I can’t even put my mind on the cross unless I let go of me. Christ told us that I am the way and the truth and the life. I rest in knowing that if I can’t find the truth anywhere else I can find it in Christ. Proverbs 3:5-6 CEV With all your heart you must trust the LORD and not your own judgment. Always let him lead you, and he will clear the road for you to follow.

Two examples of men in the Bible who were true but didn’t always remain true were a father and son team, Abraham and Isaac. Both father and son, when faced with the dilemma of someone possibly wanting their wives, lied and said their wives were there sisters (Genesis 12:10-20, 26:1-11). In either case, was the lie really necessary? Their reason for lying was to escape possible death. If Abraham and Isaac had told the truth what would the Bible narrative look like? Would the kings they encountered notice that this people is a holy people and we need not touch what belong to them or would God let the unimaginable happen, their lives taken and their wives’ caress is being given to someone else? We don’t know but I remind myself that these two guys saw firsthand the power and workings of their God, so where was their trust? If you are going, “Un huh”, don’t go there too quickly because we, just as Abraham and Isaac have wrestled with remaining true. When was the last time you lied? Was it worth it? Or worst yet are you living a lie? I tell you there are times when we have to steal away to see, or should I say recognize, who we really are. I have run into more Christians who are burned out and wrestling with their faith. Toiling with whether they are hearing the voice of God or not. What should a Christian do when pushed into this kind of corner? For certain don’t come out swinging but come out pouring your sincere heart out to God. Matthew 15:8 KJV This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. God wants to hear your heart. Tell God the truth. Let it all out. I believe He wants to hear from you and I believe He will respond. If you are lying about yourself or to yourself, tell God about it. When I’m saying lying, in every case I don’t actually mean you are walking around telling lies but I mean your inner man is not agreeing with what your outer man is showing. If you are tired and frustrated and your walk with God is seems - seeming less, take some time to yourself. For a season, till you are at that place of newness, go walking, sit in a park or near a reservoir or lake, or find a solitary place in your home and just be quiet. If you are at the level of fasting, turn the plate over a few days out the week and see if that changes things. It’s easy to put our saddlebag of truth to the side and try to ride the situation without the cushion and comfort of truth. But I tell you why not use the cushiony resources God has given us to really walk in truth that we may be free. John 8:32 KJV And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

People will say God is confidential, and He is. But I have to say if God is trying to get your attention and you keep ignoring the warning don’t be surprised if He sends a prophet. David was a man after God’s own heart; a man who expressed undying love to God with His poetry and songs. One day, he looked across the way and saw Bathsheba, a woman, and the scheming began (refer to 2 Samuel 11-12:13, Psalm 51). Long story short, David never faced the truth until Nathan came to him with a story. After hearing the story David pronounced judgment but he didn’t know he was pronouncing judgment on himself. Because of his deed God sent His judgment through Nathan that the sword would not depart from his house, meaning he would have perpetual mayhem within his own family. It is always best to face a lie than to cover it. I have learned also that a lie will lead to the truth, every time, but not vice versa.

So with all this being said, the only man I know that has remained true is Jesus! He has not left me nor forsaken me. My father is not as true, my uncles are not as true, nor is my pastor as true. No man that I have encountered in a relationship has been as true as MY SAVIOR.
