Greeting in His Name,

It has been some time since I have had an opportunity to take an abroad trip (2018) with the virus inhabiting the land. But I am ripe and ready to see this amazing world that our God has created for us. Just as I am excited about touring the world, I am just as excited about touring the Word of God. There is so much to see and learn from a bible that was written so many centuries and decades ago. So with that being said, today's blog is entitled The Grand Tour. Hope you find some inspiration, conviction, and queries.

shalom and love,

heidi

The Grand Tour is an indebt search of a particular passage. You know those study times when God will lead you to a passage, and it's like He lays it all out for you! I mean, He gives you the GRAND TOUR. He leaves nothing out, just exposing all the truths of that Word. Hopefully, here and there, throughout my writing, we will be entertained by the tour master Himself. Let's see where He is taking us today. By the way, this tour is FREE of charge! So all abroad. I advise you to slow read the scriptures. Let it "really" sink in.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 KJV This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous (fond of money), boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection (pervert, homosexual), trucebreakers (agreement breaker), false accusers, incontinent (lack of self-restraint), fierce (wild, uncivilized), despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady (headstrong, hasty), highminded, lovers of pleasures (sensual gratification) more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness (a semblance, sketch, not in their hearts), but denying the power thereof (having no faith that one can be godly): from such turn away (RUN!). Now, reading this scripture, I read slowly, as I advised earlier. It would be even more helpful to pull out a dictionary to understand some of the meanings behind the words. Then I asked myself if any of these words fit my characteristics. Am I doing any of these things intentionally or unintentionally? A true child of God does not want to be known by any of these words, but we all may have one or two that we need to work on. Reading this scripture makes you think you need to be on the lookout for people like this, but my mind drifted to can I be the person? Can I be unholy, incontinent, a lover of pleasure, heady, or even a traitor? Can I have a semblance of someone serving God, but my heart is far from it? Do I need to run from myself? Some of these words are hard to face when we live in a society that wants to embrace everybody. And you know what? It's okay to embrace everybody, but we can not embrace the sin that easily throws people off track and into hell. Love would not let a person go to hell.

2 Timothy 3:6-9, 13 KJV For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. Now any of us who are dibbling and dabbling, not earnestly struggling, but playing in any of the words above, can look forward to learning but never seeing the truth. Jannes and Jambres were magicians who came against Moses. They exercised satanic power until God stopped them. The example of Jannes and Jambres is used because God wants us to know that we can exercise corruption for only a season. At some point and time, our folly will be made known to ALL men. God will not allow us to proceed any further. WARNING! If you are a deceiver, watch out, lest the trick is turned on you.

2 Timothy 3:10-12, 14-15 KJV But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; and that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. We are all taught by someone. If you are a Christian, you are sitting under someone's leadership. Paul explains you know me. You know my teaching, how I conduct my life. The reason why my trust and my still getting along with those that oppose me. My divine love, my willingness to go through, my experiences with being harassed, and being kicked around for a great purpose in many places, I endured. Only because God delivered me as He will deliver you, hold to God's Word. It will help you to overcome.

2 Timothy 3:16 KJV All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: I used to misinterpret this scripture. I used to think that the Word could be reproved and corrected. WRONG! Where did I get that misinterpretation, I wonder? After the study, I know that ALL scripture, not part of it, is inspired and breathed by God. The Word was given so that we may be convinced that this Word's teachings are true and evident to us. It restores us to the right place, canceling all false teachings and practices. We are the ones that are actually reproved and corrected. Thank God for the Word!

2 Timothy 3:17 KJV That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. Sadly, we have reached the end of our tour. I hope you know that God has equipped us for a GR8 work through this scripture and many others. Now some of us may have to let Him refurbish some equipment, and that's fine. He wants you to surrender it so that He may maintain it for you. His oil changes (The Holy Spirit) and tune-ups (The Word) are reasonable and will keep your engine revved to go as we approach a new year.

Until the next tour…

Let Us Laugh!

A bored young man decided life would be better with a pet. So he bought a 100-legged, talking centipede. One day he decided to ask the centipede to come to church. He asked three times and the last time as he shouted; the centipede said, "I heard you the first time, I was putting on my shoes."

Hope to see you Next Month....
